SAO PAULO, Feb 24 (Reuters) - Brazil's Butantan Institute, which is run by Sao Paulo state, will provide 30 million extra doses of Sinovac Biotech's COVID-19 vaccine to Brasilia provided it waives exclusive rights to buying the shots, the state governor said on Wednesday.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Joao Doria also urged the federal government to order vaccines from other suppliers as the pandemic worsens in many regions of Brazil. Doria said nine out of ten Brazilians are getting Sinovac's vaccine, which is produced in São Paulo in partnership with the Chinese developer. (Reporting by Eduardo Simões and Ana Mano)
