Brian Dunkleman Sent Estranged Wife Expletive-Laden Text Messages in Nasty Custody Battle

The estranged wife of former Brian Dunkleman claims she has been trying to civilly co-parent with the "American Idol" host but all she gets in response are text messages calling her a "b---h" and a "c--t."

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Kalea Nasif Dunkleman wants a court to grant her sole legal custody of the couple's 6-year-old son Jackson. She also wants the couple's original custody plan (which they had unofficially been casting aside recently) to be put back in place.

In her declaration, Kalea claims that Brian has now "all of a sudden" that he have sole legal and physical custody with alternating weekends with me and he is demanding that I agree that Jackson will move to San Diego with" him.

She also claims that Brian has threatened to pursue alimony and child support if she does not give in to his depends.

Kalea admits that she used to have a problem with alcohol but that she is now sober. However, Kalea claims that Brian "continues to throw it in my face as often as he can as a means of controlling and manipulating me. Every communication with the Respondent contains an unfounded and false allegation that I am drunk."

She claims she tried to make a flexible custody schedule work — because of Brian's job as an Uber driver — but it is no longer working and she feels it is hurting their son.

To back up her claims, Kalea submitted multiple text message conversations with Brian which she believes shows how he responds to her attempts to have conversations about custody.

In one exchange, when she attempted to discuss the schedule, Brian responded, "No. God damn you, you drunk f--k. You will not tell me what the f--king schedule is. It stays the way it is. You make me take time away from work to discuss our son...you will never tell me what is going to happen regarding him."

In another instance, Brian ended a discussion by writing, "evil f--king b---h...go ahead and add this text thread to show the court. Just one more where I call you a c--t."

Kalea ends her request and makes her case by saying, "I am the only one who buys clothes, shoes, and underwear for Jackson. I am the only one that takes Jackson to the doctors and his dentists for his check-ups. I am the only one that arranges play dates every week and takes him to every birthday party, including purchasing every birthday present. I am the one who volunteers twice a week in his classroom and is on the Executive Board of the PTA doing everything in my power to craft his young life into a positive world. I am the one who ensures that his hair is cut and groomed and I arrange and pay for his Summer school, Summer camps, and extracurricular activities."

A hearing on the matter is scheduled for later this week.

Brian and Kalea were married in 2007. She filed for separation back in 2016.
