WATERTOWN, Mass. (AP) _ Bright Horizons Family Solutions Inc. (BFAM) on Thursday reported second-quarter net income of $49.3 million.
The Watertown, Massachusetts-based company said it had profit of 83 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 99 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 98 cents per share.
The child care and early education services provider posted revenue of $528.1 million in the period.
For the current quarter ending in October, Bright Horizons expects its per-share earnings to range from 85 cents to 87 cents.
The company expects full-year earnings in the range of $3.59 to $3.64 per share.
Bright Horizons shares have climbed 34% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $149.89, a climb of 39% in the last 12 months.
