WATERTOWN, Mass. (AP) _ Bright Horizons Family Solutions Inc. (BFAM) on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter profit of $46.7 million.
The Watertown, Massachusetts-based company said it had net income of 79 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 90 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 84 cents per share.
The child care and early education services provider posted revenue of $478.2 million in the period.
For the year, the company reported profit of $158 million, or $2.66 per share. Revenue was reported as $1.9 billion.
For the current quarter ending in April, Bright Horizons expects its per-share earnings to range from 77 cents to 79 cents.
The company expects full-year earnings in the range of $3.57 to $3.63 per share.
Bright Horizons shares have climbed slightly more than 5 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $117.47, an increase of 26 percent in the last 12 months.
