FOSHAN, China (AP) _ Bright Scholar Education Holdings Ltd. (BEDU) on Thursday reported fiscal first-quarter earnings of $27.2 million.
On a per-share basis, the Foshan, China-based company said it had net income of 23 cents. Earnings, adjusted for amortization costs and stock option expense, came to 25 cents per share.
The provider of international education to Chinese students posted revenue of $156.2 million in the period.
Bright Scholar shares have climbed 7% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $9.47, a fall of 19% in the last 12 months.
