Brightcove: 1Q Earnings Snapshot

BOSTON (AP) _ Brightcove Inc. (BCOV) on Wednesday reported a loss of $5 million in its first quarter.

The Boston-based company said it had a loss of 14 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for costs related to mergers and acquisitions and stock option expense, came to 1 cent per share.

The internet video streaming service company posted revenue of $41.8 million in the period.

For the current quarter ending in July, Brightcove expects its per-share earnings to range from 6 cents to 7 cents.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $45.5 million to $46 million for the fiscal second quarter.

Brightcove shares have increased 24 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $8.73, a climb of 13 percent in the last 12 months.
