CHELMSFORD, Mass. (AP) _ Brooks Automation Inc. (BRKS) on Thursday reported fiscal first-quarter earnings of $13.1 million.
On a per-share basis, the Chelmsford, Massachusetts-based company said it had profit of 18 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 28 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 23 cents per share.
The supplier to semiconductor manufacturers posted revenue of $210.5 million in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $207.1 million.
Brooks expects full-year earnings in the range of 22 cents to 28 cents per share, with revenue in the range of $213 million to $225 million.
Brooks shares have fallen slightly more than 3% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $40.55, a rise of 28% in the last 12 months.
