BILLERICA, Mass. (AP) _ Bruker Corp. (BRKR) on Thursday reported first-quarter profit of $30.8 million.
On a per-share basis, the Billerica, Massachusetts-based company said it had profit of 20 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 28 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 24 cents per share.
The scientific equipment maker posted revenue of $461.4 million in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $454.8 million.
Bruker expects full-year earnings in the range of $1.57 to $1.61 per share.
Bruker shares have risen 30% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $38.59, an increase of 31% in the last 12 months.
