BTS Fans Are Debating Whether Jimin's "Nevermind" Tattoo Is Real

I have theories.·Teen Vogue

BTS’ Jimin might have shown off a band-inspired tattoo this past weekend, but fans are unsure whether it’s real ink, or just some fun body paint. That is, of course, because the singer has been previously seen (almost five years ago!) rocking the same tat…that later disappeared.

Back in 2014, Jimin was on-stage during a MAMA performance when he ripped off his tank to show off the word “Nevermind” written across the right side of his ribcage. Almost six inches high, wrapping around the majority of his side, it was hard to miss. That said, it turned out to just be a teaser for BTS’ new song (at the time), entitled “Intro: Nevermind,” as the tattoo disappeared as quickly as it had come into being. On January 12, a similar occurrence took place, as Jimin pulled up his embellished shirt during a performance, showing off that very same tattoo.

Twitter fan account @lookatmin1013 noticed the tattoo through his button-down as early as November of last year, so many believe this one to be real, albeit a throwback to his prior teaser. Perhaps he wore the temporary design for long enough that he decided he’d want one IRL — who knows? That said, others are speculating that had the tattoo been real this time, it would have faded a bit more since November, so it might just be a fake version that he continues to re-apply.

Regardless, there has been no word from the BTS camp on the subject, so we await further confirmation with baited breath. If it is real, though, we kind of love the fact that he chose such a nostalgic nod to the band that made him famous.
