Profit Much Better Than Forecast
Ctrip.com International earned $0.36 a share, crushing forecasts for profit of just $0.17. Revenue of $203 million also exceeded the $190.4 million consensus number, and guidance was strong. CTRP rallies 12 percent before the opening bell on my tradeMONSTER platform.
Yelp Advances on Big Mobile Gains
Yelp is really making headway in the mobile space! The consumer-review website reported a per-share loss of $0.01, narrower than consensus expectations for a $0.04 loss. Revenue of $55 million also compared favorably with projections of $53.3 million. YELP, which received more than half its search from mobile devices, rallied 14 percent in the premarket.
Affymetrix Reports Surprise Earnings
Affymetrix earned $0.04 a share in the second quarter, while analysts had expected a loss of $0.01. Revenue of $79.5 million also beat the $78.5 million average forecast. AFFX climbs 13 percent in early trading.
