BWXT Promotes Suzy Sterner to Senior Vice President for Government Relations

BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT) is pleased to announce that Suzy Sterner has been promoted to senior vice president for government relations, effective today, Oct. 1, 2019. Sterner is responsible for BWXT’s relationship with the U.S. government, including the U.S. Congress and the executive branch, in addition to the company's interface with government officials and stakeholders at the local, state and international levels.

Sterner joined BWXT as vice president for government relations in January of this year after serving as the senior director of congressional relations for Northrop Grumman. She was also vice president of government affairs for SAIC. Before that, Sterner was senior director of congressional relations for Exelis (now part of L3Harris Technologies, Inc.). “Suzy’s work has been outstanding since she joined the company earlier this year,” said Rex Geveden, BWXT’s president and chief executive officer. “We are extremely pleased for her to join the executive management team and continue to provide critical insight and counsel given our strong ties to our important government customers and stakeholders.”

Sterner graduated from Middlebury College with a bachelor’s degree in international politics and economics before receiving a master’s degree in business from the University of Maryland University College. She is a current member and past president of both Women in Aerospace and the National Space Club.
