CHICAGO (AP) _ Byline Bancorp Inc. (BY) on Thursday reported third-quarter net income of $14.5 million.

The bank, based in Chicago, said it had earnings of 39 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 40 cents per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 34 cents per share.

The bank holding company posted revenue of $72.2 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $63.7 million, also exceeding Street forecasts.

Byline Bancorp shares have fallen 13 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $19.92, a decrease of 3 percent in the last 12 months.
