The Eden Prairie, Minnesota-based company said it had net income of $1.16 per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.13 per share.
The trucking company posted revenue of $3.75 billion in the period, missing Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $3.97 billion.
C.H. Robinson shares have decreased nearly 4% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has increased 18%. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $80.99, a drop of 12% in the last 12 months.
