C4V Signs Memorandum of Understanding to Supply Its Breakthrough Lithium-Ion Cells to Powerstorm ESS

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CA / ACCESSWIRE / December 15, 2015 / Powerstorm ESS (PSTO) ("Powerstorm ESS" or "the Company") (www.Powerstormess.com) and C4V today announced that the companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) whereby C4V has agreed to supply its semisolid lithium-ion cells for use in Powerstorm ESS' integrated storage systems. In addition, the companies will work together to ensure that supplied C4V cells enhance Powerstorm ESS system energy density, life and cost.

Unlike traditional lithium-ion batteries, the C4V battery cells are optimized to withstand the rigors of the long cycle and calendar life required by grid-scale energy storage and other high-performance applications. They also combine superior chemistry as drop-in innovation to lower the total cost of ownership of a battery by 70%, providing an excellent rate of return in contrast to conventional fuel solutions.

"This agreement to supply C4V cells to Powerstorm ESS, an established industry leader, is further validation of our energy storage technology," said Robert Dobbs, C4V's CEO. "Through this MoU, Powerstorm ESS and C4V will be able to bring industry-leading solutions to market more quickly and cost effectively, accelerating the adoption of advanced ESS across the globe."

Powerstorm ESS combines ESS and intelligent controls to deliver innovative, tailored, technology solutions for electric on/off grid, backup power and lead-acid replacement applications. The company also provides system integration expertise focusing on high performance, efficiency, safety and reliability.

"Powerstorm ESS is excited to combine the C4V breakthrough cells with our industry leading storage systems to offer customers the most affordable and best in class energy storage systems," said Mike Freni, CEO of Powerstorm ESS. "Working together, we will provide customers with high performance, 20-year battery life for reliable grid, off-grid and behind-the-meter solutions. We look forward to incorporating these breakthrough batteries into our best-in-class ESS deployments across the globe."
