Calendar focuses on consumer, housing

This week's economic calendar will continue to shift attention toward retail and housing, which have recently been sources of strength for the market.

There are no major releases today, but trading could be affected by events across the Atlantic, with European Central Bank Mario Draghi scheduled to speak and officials resuming negotiations over the Greek debt crisis.

The Case-Shiller index of homes prices, durable-goods orders, and U.S. consumer confidence will be released tomorrow, followed by new-home sales on Wednesday and monthly same-store sales on Thursday. Retailers including Ann, Kroger, and Aeropostale will also issue quarterly results.
