FULLERTON, Calif. (AP) -- The former office manager for the Anaheim Police Association has been sentenced to four years in prison for embezzling $400,000 from the union.
Cindy Ann Su'a pleaded guilty in August to more than 100 counts of forgery, computer fraud and failing to file tax returns.
Her sentence includes making restitution to the union, paying a $654,000 fine and settling a $105,000 tax bill.
Prosecutors say the 47-year-old woman embezzled the money over a period of five years by forging amounts listed on her paychecks and using the union's online banking system to pay her bills.
The union's president uncovered the scam after receiving notices from the Internal Revenue Service that she hadn't filed tax returns.
Her husband, John, was sentenced to 150 days on tax charges.
