PETALUMA, Calif. (AP) _ Calix Inc. (CALX) on Monday reported third-quarter net income of $809,000, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Petaluma, California-based company said it had profit of 2 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 6 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 1 cent per share.
The maker of telecommunications equipment posted revenue of $114.7 million in the period.
For the current quarter ending in December, Calix expects its per-share earnings to range from 8 cents to 14 cents.
The company said it expects revenue in the range of $122 million to $127 million for the fiscal fourth quarter.
Calix shares have increased 26 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $7.52, a climb of 41 percent in the last 12 months.
