Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Meets Dogs Trained to Detect Disease
Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, visited one of her patronages this morning.
The charity is dedicated to training dogs to detect disease and help people manage chronic illnesses.
This morning, the Duchess of Cornwall visited the charity Medical Detection Dogs, of which she is patron. She met with both the human and canine members of the organization-though she seemed particularly pleased with the latter.
Camilla was treated to demonstrations by the dogs, who are trained to sniff out various diseases. As Clarence House noted in a tweet, in the case of chronic disease PoTS, "dogs have been found to be 93% reliable, significantly higher than many existing tests."
Presley, who appears to be a black lab or similar breed, was on hand to show off his PoTS detection skills. After he successfully completed the task, his handler rewarded him with a well-deserved treat. (Watch Presley's work below.)

Other dogs, such as Moby, are trained to live alongside people and help them manage chronic conditions. Camilla met Moby and his human Elspeth, who he'll begin working with next week.
Impressed with the good boys' good work, Camilla praised the charity, saying, "To all of you here today, I wanted to say a huge thank you from a very, very proud Patron."
At the end of her visit, Camilla officially opened Medical Detection Dogs's new facility. To do so, she walked passed a "Guard of Honor" (two rows of dogs lined up with their handlers). When she cut the red ribbon, dog-in-training Tala was there to assist.
