HOUSTON (AP) _ Carbo Ceramics Inc. (CRR) on Thursday reported a loss of $14.8 million in its second quarter.
On a per-share basis, the Houston-based company said it had a loss of 55 cents.
The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 53 cents per share.
The maker of material used to boost the output of oil and natural gas wells posted revenue of $58 million in the period.
Carbo Ceramics shares have dropped almost 3 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 48 percent in the last 12 months.
