Carrefour Brasil names Argentina CEO Maquaire as new head

SAO PAULO, July 20 (Reuters) - Carrefour Brasil SA on Tuesday named Stephane Maquaire as its new chief executive beginning Sept 1 or as soon as he gets a visa to work in Brazil, the company said in a securities filing.

Maquaire, 47, will replace Noel Prioux. The new CEO has been working for Carrefour SA since 2019 as chief executive in Argentina.

Carrefour Brasil said Maquaire will take the helm of the retailer as it prepares to start its integration with Grupo Big, which operates 387 stores.

Maquaire will continue Carrefour Brasil's plans to expand its stores and speed up e-commerce and financial services offerings, the retailer said.
