HOUSTON (AP) _ Carriage Services Inc. (CSV) on Tuesday reported a first-quarter loss of $4.2 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Houston-based company said it had a loss of 23 cents. Earnings, adjusted for asset impairment costs and non-recurring costs, were 35 cents per share.
The provider of funeral and cemetary services and products posted revenue of $77.5 million in the period.
Carriage Services shares have dropped 38% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $15.79, a decline of 19% in the last 12 months.
