HOUSTON (AP) _ Carrizo Oil & Gas Inc. (CRZO) on Wednesday reported second-quarter earnings of $107.5 million.
The Houston-based company said it had net income of $1.10 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, were 71 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 14 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 69 cents per share.
The energy company posted revenue of $265 million in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Eleven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $263.8 million.
Carrizo shares have declined 19% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $9.20, a decrease of 64% in the last 12 months.
