Casualty newcomer teases Rosa and David romance
Casualty newcomer Jacey Salles has teased a possible romance for her character Rosa Cadenas and David Hide.
Jacey, who has starred in Cold Feet and Hollyoaks, has taken on the role of new porter Rosa, with her first scenes airing in this Saturday's episode (July 27).
When Rosa turns up in the ED for her first shift, she instantly makes a big impression on David by stepping in to help change his car tyre.
Although it isn't exactly love at first sight between the mismatched pair, early teasers have hinted that Rosa will be turning David's world upside down as the story continues.
Speaking about a possible romance between the pair, Jacey said to Inside Soap: "There is potential, although they are in for quite a long journey towards that.
"Their stories certainly cross paths, and they become very much involved in each other's lives – whether that's actually wanted or otherwise.
"Rosa finds David highly amusing! He kind of bumbles and stumbles, and gets irritable – he flusters his way around, and she finds that quite entertaining.
"He tries to contain Rosa on her first day and put her in her place, but he realises from the off that's going to be rather difficult. She challenges him."
Teasing what else fans can expect from Rosa, Jacey added: "She's been employed as a porter but you find out in the first episode that she doesn't just contain herself to that role.
"She doesn't follow the rules – she likes to give out unsolicited advice to the patients, so she does ruffle a few feathers. But the advice she gives is generally right! She doesn't understand the British reticence about honesty and open communication."
Casualty airs Rosa's first scenes on Saturday, July 27 on BBC One.
