SOMERSET, N.J. (AP) _ Catalent Inc. (CTLT) on Tuesday reported a fiscal first-quarter loss of $14.4 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
The Somerset, New Jersey-based company said it had a loss of 10 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 28 cents per share.
The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 29 cents per share.
The maker of drug delivery technologies posted revenue of $551.8 million in the period, which also fell short of Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $585.4 million.
Catalent expects full-year revenue in the range of $2.5 billion to $2.59 billion.
Catalent shares have increased roughly 1 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has declined 3 percent in the last 12 months.
