CatchU Launches Transformative Personalized Technology to Assess Risk and Prevent Falls in Older Adults

NEW YORK, September 20, 2022--(BUSINESS WIRE)--JET Worldwide Enterprises Inc., a company dedicated to translating clinical multisensory research to real-world solutions, announced the launch of the first and only quantitative, objective fall risk assessment that provides advanced insight to an individual’s risk of falling and why an individual may fall. Test results are supported by personalized recommendations that are proven to prevent falls.

This simple but powerful iPhone test will help prevent some of the 2.8 million emergency room visits, 800,000 hospitalizations and 27,000 deaths, related to falls, annually in the United States. Until now, there have been no fast, accessible, and objective fall risk assessments that can "catch you before you fall."

The product, CatchUTM, will enable geriatricians, assisted living and retirement communities, and other providers to measure a senior’s ability to integrate multisensory information using reaction time measures (visual and tactile) through a quick, accurate, and accessible iPhone App based test. After the test is completed, healthcare providers receive a tailored report delineating their patient’s fall risk and personalized recommendations for them to consider.

"Our mission is to raise awareness of fall risks, to prevent falls before they happen, and to improve the well-being of seniors and all people," said Dr. Jeannette R. Mahoney, Founder and President of JET Worldwide Enterprises Inc., producer of CatchU. Dr. Mahoney founded the company based on over 15 years of clinical neuroscience research, which is documented in over a dozen peer-reviewed journal articles.

The outpatient center at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital, in White Plains, NY, has partnered with CatchU on a randomized clinical trial, to study the latest technological advances to predict and prevent falls in older adults.

More information is available at http://catchu.net/ and healthcare providers can establish an account to order tests by registering at catchu.net/register. The CatchU test is eligible for telehealth visit reimbursement for appropriate individuals.

"I am familiar with Dr. Mahoney’s research and I’m looking forward to using this test in the clinic," said Dr. Claudene J. George, Associate Professor, Department of Medicine (Geriatrics) at Montefiore Medical Center; a geriatrician who urged Mahoney to find a path to take her experimental multisensory integration assessments beyond the lab.
