Celebrities like Shonda Rhimes, Janelle Monae, and Leslie Jones are using Twitter to get followers to go see Marvel's Black Panther during opening weekend·Glamour

After opening in theaters on Friday, Marvel's latest film Black Panther is poised to shatter box office records with the best February movie opening of all time, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It might even top superhero films' record holder, Marvel's The Avengers, for best showing. Not only has the film already earned outstanding reviews from critics and viewers, celebrities have taken to Twitter to praise the film and encourage followers to make their way to theaters as soon as possible.

Black Panther has topped all other Marvel films with a score of 97 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, beating The Avengers' previous record of 92 percent. It also received Marvel's second A+ CinemaScore. In terms of cold hard cash, the film earned $75.8 million on Friday, putting it on the list of 10 best opening days ever, and it's expected to make history by being on track to earn $205-210 million during the long President's Day weekend. (For comparison, The Avengersmade $207.4 million during its opening weekend in 2012.)

The superhero film also features a cast of mostly black actors—including Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, and Michael B. Jordan—which makes it stand out in a genre that's often represented by white men. "Now we are seeing a black renaissance in Hollywood," Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrissa Cullors wrote in a powerful essay for Glamour.com.

Celebrities like Shonda Rhimes, Janelle Monae, and Leslie Jones used their platforms to express their excitement about the film—and encourage moviegoers to get their tickets. But they aren't the only ones: A ton of celebs are tweeting out about the movie, and the excitement is genuinely infectious.
