In a major heartbreak, Stacey Abrams, who was running to become the first black female governor of Georgia-and whose race against Republican Brian Kemp has still not been officially called-conceded that she cannot win.

Abrams' historic candidacy attracted a ton of celebrity endorsements, with everyone from Oprah to Offset pulling for her. But her campaign wasn't the only one with famous friends. Taylor Swift broke her politics-free streak to endorse two Democrats in Tennessee. Beyoncé made a last-minute plea for Beto O'Rourke, who was running for a Senate seat in Texas.

But does star power actually have any power to win elections? Here, an unscientific investigation.
