Celebs, TV shows, and more celebrate Father's Day

Father's Day celebrated by celebrities, TV shows, and more·Entertainment Weekly

Dads fictional and otherwise are getting their due today, with celebrities, TV shows, film properties, and more commemorating Father’s Day on social media.

As Chrissy Teigen astutely tweeted Sunday morning, “Instagram is the new hallmark card,” making it and other social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook the most popular places for folks to celebrate dear old Dad.

Teigen also posted a lengthy ode to her husband and the father of her two children, John Legend. Many other famous moms did the same, including Gal Gadot and Kim Kardashian West, who posted tributes to both husband Kanye West and her late father, Robert Kardashian. Gwyneth Paltrow shared dual tributes as well, to first husband Chris Martin and fiancé Brad Falchuk.

Many male stars also celebrated their fathers and their own fatherhood, including Hugh Jackman, Robert Downey Jr., Matthew Morrison, and Jon Bon Jovi. Mark Hamill, the reigning joker of Twitter, posted a humorous tweet with a photo of Darth Vader (his onscreen father) and Father’s Day wishes.

Comedian Rob Delaney, who lost his 2-year old son to brain cancer in January, shared a photo of his late child and a message to anyone grieving on this holiday, writing, “This is my first Father’s Day since my beautiful Henry died. Love today to all moms & dads who’ve lost a child.”

Other parties commemorating Father’s Day include book publisher Simon and Schuster, The Simpsons, and Elvis’ Graceland.
