WALNUT CREEK, Calif. (AP) _ Central Garden & Pet Co. (CENT) on Monday reported fiscal second-quarter earnings of $42.4 million.
On a per-share basis, the Walnut Creek, California-based company said it had net income of 73 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 72 cents per share.
The maker of products for the pet supply and lawn and garden markets posted revenue of $673.7 million in the period.
Central Garden shares have fallen 24% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $26.15, a decline of 29% in the last 12 months.
