GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. (AP) _ Century Communities Inc. (CCS) on Tuesday reported second-quarter profit of $15.5 million.
The Greenwood Village, Colorado-based company said it had net income of 51 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted to extinguish debt, came to 77 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 74 cents per share.
The single-family homebuilder posted revenue of $620 million in the period.
Century Communities shares have climbed 61% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $27.77, a decrease of slightly more than 6% in the last 12 months.
