DEERFIELD, Ill. (AP) _ CF Industries Holdings Inc. (CF) on Wednesday reported second-quarter profit of $148 million.
The Deerfield, Illinois-based company said it had net income of 63 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 42 cents per share.
The fertilizer maker posted revenue of $1.3 billion in the period.
CF shares have increased roughly 4 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has climbed 5 percent. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $44.12, an increase of 51 percent in the last 12 months.
