Canadian Football League star and 2012 Grey Cup Champion, Chad Owens extended his close connection with CFL Hall of Famer, Michael Clemons by donating $10,000 to the Michael "Pinball" Clemons Foundation (MPCF).

Owens was named the 2012 Gibson's Finest CFL Most Outstanding Player, the first non-Quarterback to earn the honour since 2006, and received a $10,000 donation to the charity of his choice. A regular supporter of MPCF and active in his community, Owens and Gibson's Finest presented the donation to Clemons at the Foundation's headquarters in Toronto.

The Michael "Pinball" Clemons Foundation was founded in 2005 by co-founders Michael "Pinball" Clemons and Natasha Borota. The Foundation strives to reach the most under resourced individuals at home and around the world.

"We are so pleased to honour our Most Outstanding CFL Player of the Year with a donation to a great charity so closely tied to the CFL community," says Carolyn McFarlane, International Marketing Manager of Gibson's Finest Canadian Whisky. "It's rare we get to see such a genuine connection between two of the CFL's elite and we're happy to be a part of that today."

The donation continues an ongoing mutual respect between the two CFL veterans, most notably displayed last season when Clemons honoured Owens in a ceremony for surpassing his professional football record for most combined yards (3,863) in a season. Both Clemons and Owens have enjoyed championship seasons with the Toronto Argonauts and notoriously known for their speed, agility and personality on and off the field.

Owens had a remarkable 2012 season making CFL history with his record-breaking offensive performance, 100th Grey Cup championship and Gibson's Finest CFL Most Outstanding Player accolades. As defending champions, Owens and the Toronto Argonauts will kick off the 2013 regular season against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Friday, June 28th.
