LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 1, 2014) - While we're pickin' pumpkins and pondering our clever costumes, Characula's emerging from the shadows once again to get ghoulish and celebrate her favorite day of the year…Halloween!

With two singles hitting radio this month via Howard Rosen Promotions -- her 2013 hit "Mummy Dance" and the equally weird and infectious "Graveyard Party" -- the indie horror rocker is gearing up for two exciting performances.

She will extend the All Hallows' Eve vibe to the weekend with a headlining show in the Foundation Room, the VIP Room at the House of Blues on Sunset Blvd. in West Hollywood on Saturday, November 1. She takes the stage for a 35-minute set at 10:40 p.m. Tickets are $10: http://tinyurl.com/nep7cub

Marking a return to the roller derby circuit after a set last October, Characula will also be performing at the L.A. Derby Dolls Halloween game on Saturday, October 25; the Derby Dolls are Southern California's premiere all-female, banked track roller derby team. There will be a costume contest and prizes. The Derby Dolls play at The Doll Factory, 1910 W. Temple Street, Los Angeles, CA 90026. For tickets: http://derbydolls.com/tickets/

As October 31 approaches, it's a great time for her fans to watch her creepy-cool video she shot last year for her hit radio single "Mummy Dance," also on her dedicated YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRNikva89yY

An exciting peek into the wondrous world of Characula, the bizarrely compelling clip was created by award-winning Canadian television, commercial and video director and cinematographer Martin Julian.

The lyrics of "Mummy Dance" include authentic and vibrant references to Egypt, where mummies stay in their crypts (or so they say), and a salute to legendary paranormal host, Art Bell: Kingdom of Nye, Valley of Kings, Osiris, Cleopatra, King Tut, Nephren-Ka, ba-ka, Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, pharaoh and The Nile. In Characula's world, there are "Mummies dancing in the streets/DJs making all the beats…"

Last year, Characula picked up two Hollywood Music In Media Awards (HMMA) nominations for "Mummy Dance" and "Ready For Love."
