Chart shows how much the New England Patriots have dominated the NFL

Cork Gaines and Skye Gould

Another NFL season is around the corner and like many of the previous 16, the New England Patriots are overwhelmingly considered the best team in the league.

Since Tom Brady became the Patriots' starting quarterback in 2001, the Patriots have won 221 games, including 25 in the playoffs. That is 40 more wins than next winningest team during that span, the Pittsburgh Steelers (181 wins).

At the other end of the spectrum, the Cleveland Browns have been the anti-Patriots. The Browns' 83 wins — including none in the playoffs — over the last 16 seasons are the fewest among NFL teams.
