Chemed posts 1Q profit

CINCINNATI (AP) _ Chemed Corp. (CHE) on Wednesday reported first-quarter net income of $29.8 million.

The Cincinnati-based company said it had profit of $1.78 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $1.82 per share.

The operator of the Roto-Rooter plumbing service and Vitas Healthcare hospices posted revenue of $405.9 million in the period.

Chemed expects full-year earnings in the range of $7.80 to $8 per share.

Chemed shares have increased 18 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $190.05, a rise of 37 percent in the last 12 months.
