WALTHAM, Mass. (AP) _ Chiasma Inc. (CHMA) on Thursday reported a loss of $8.7 million in its second quarter.

The Waltham, Massachusetts-based company said it had a loss of 36 cents per share.

In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, the company's shares hit $1.25. A year ago, they were trading at $1.45.
