WALTHAM, Mass. (AP) _ Chiasma Inc. (CHMA) on Thursday reported a loss of $7.8 million in its second quarter.
The Waltham, Massachusetts-based company said it had a loss of 25 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 29 cents per share.
Chiasma shares have increased 62% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $5.03, nearly quadrupling in the last 12 months.
