WALTHAM, Mass. (AP) _ Chiasma Inc. (CHMA) on Tuesday reported a loss of $7.7 million in its third quarter.
The Waltham, Massachusetts-based company said it had a loss of 20 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 21 cents per share.
Chiasma shares have risen 73% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $5.38, a climb of 31% in the last 12 months.
