Modeling

Brinkley was discovered in Paris in 1973 by an American photographer, leading to an introduction with Elite Model Management and Eileen Ford (co-founder of Ford Models). Three national ad campaigns followed, including a Noxzema commercial. After a succession of cover appearances on Glamour magazine, in 1976, Brinkley signed a 25-year contract with CoverGirl Cosmetics, one of the longest modeling contracts in history. Her meteoric rise in the modeling industry, going on to appear on three consecutive Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue covers (1979, 1980 and 1981), launching her celebrity star.
