LOS ANGELES (AP) _ ChromaDex Inc. (CDXC) on Tuesday reported a loss of $8.9 million in its fourth quarter.
The Los Angeles-based company said it had a loss of 15 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 11 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 12 cents per share.
The natural products company posted revenue of $13.1 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $12.8 million.
For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $32.1 million, or 56 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $46.3 million.
In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, the company's shares hit $3.40. A year ago, they were trading at $3.55.
