One of the biggest transitions you have to make when switching from Android to iOS is the fact that iOS devices lack a dedicated back button like the ones that come with all Android devices. However, a new Kickstarter campaign recently went live for a product called Halo Back, which is essentially a smart screen protector that adds a dedicated back button to either the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus.
The back button on the protector is located in the lower left-hand corner of the device, which is where it’s located on some Android devices as well. If you’ve ever tried to go back on and iPhone and have found yourself hitting phantom buttons at the bottom of the display, then you’ll definitely appreciate having this around.
“For Halo Back, we add a circuit layer to traditional glass screen protector,” the company explains on its Kickstarter page. “It helps to lead current when you press lower left corner of the screen, so that the back button works.”
The Kickstarter campaign has already blown past its original goal of $20,000 and as of this writing it has raised just under $83,000. You can pledge $17 to ensure you get your own Halo Back when it ships, which really is a great bargain since the accessory will have a retail price of $49. The project estimates Halo Back will ship in August 2015, so if you pledge now you won’t have to wait very long before getting your reward.
