PALO ALTO, Calif, May 12, 2017 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- ClickUp, a project management platform, launched earlier this week is using machine learning in order to help project managers estimate the length of their tasks and projects.
One of the many current problems with project management that Click Up aims to address is the difficulty project managers have in estimating how long their projects are going to take.
Uncertainties and risks that can't be foreseen in every task make it near impossible to accurately estimate how long a project will take.
Click Up employs its machine learning capabilities to create a proprietary prediction model that learns the idiosyncrasies of every project manager and team member. This leads to more accurate time estimates over time.
The end result is software that's able to accurately predict timeframes for certain tasks completely on its own.
According to the startup, their early users are reporting - as a result of machine learning predictions - dramatic decreases in overdue tasks, missed deadlines, and projects going over budget.
Executives at the startup are saying that they want to explore different ways to expand on the machine learning functionality that's already been implemented into their system.
Zeb Evans, CEO at ClickUp, said, "Having used the [machine learning-powered predictions], it's clear to me the future of project management is going to be changed forever in an extremely positive way."
While they're not sure how this will manifest, they're highly optimistic that future developments in machine learning will have a profound impact In project management software going forward.
ClickUp is available as a free and paid service on its website at https://clickup.com
