Ahsoka Tano’s back again in this week's Clone Wars “Deal No Deal,” a new adventure that picks up where things left off in “Gone with a Trace.” The opening epigraph reads, “Mistakes are valuable lessons often learned too late.”

What happens in this week's episode of The Clone Wars?

Things kick off with a quiet character moment: Ahsoka and Trace Martez work on repairing the ex-Jedi’s wrecked speeder, and Trace initiates a conversation in hopes of learning more about her new friend. Not wanting to give away her Jedi history, Ahsoka makes up a lie about having attended a trade school called Skywalker Academy (after her former master, Anakin).

“There aren’t any academies down here,” says Trace. “If there was, I couldn’t afford it.”

Turns out that Trace—with the help of her sister, Rafa—has fixed up a starship called the Silver Angel in her spare time, and that she really doesn’t want Ahsoka to leave. So Ahsoka promises to stick around a while longer, which makes Rafa suspicious. Rafa wonders about her motives.

“I don’t have an angle. Unless maybe to keep you both out of trouble,” Ahsoka assures her.

When Rafa talks the two women into accompanying her on a job, they all take flight about the Silver Angel and depart Level 1313, en route to the mining planet Kessel. (Just one of the episode’s many references to 1977’s Star Wars: A New Hope.)

As they fast-talk their way through Republic security and head off-world, General Anakin Skywalker senses Ahsoka’s presence from the bridge of his Venator-class Star Destroyer. His expression is one of great sorrow.

Down on Kessel’s surface, Ahsoka and the Martez sisters witness firsthand the horrors of slave labor as Twi’leks toil in the “spice” mines. They head to Oba Diah to deliver their precious cargo and secure a considerable payday for Rafa.

When Ahsoka and Rafa get into an argument about dealing with the Pyke Syndicate on Oba Diah, Trace comes to fear that the crime lords might seize her ship. So, panicking, she does the unthinkable: she jettisons their entire shipment—30,000 credits’ worth of spice—into the void.

Ahsoka improvises a plan to deliver empty cargo containers to the Pykes and use her Jedi mind-trick ability to sell the whole charade. “You want to pay us our credits and send us on our way,” Ahsoka tells Marg Krim, head of the spice operation.

For a moment, the trick works.

As they begin their ascent from the landing platform, credits in hand, the Pykes realize they’ve been swindled and activate a tractor beam. Several of the Syndicate’s ships encircle the Silver Angel, and the credits roll.
