Clorox Earns 100% Score on Human Rights Campaign's LGBTQ Workplace Equality Scorecard for 13th Consecutive Year

OAKLAND, Calif., March 28, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The Clorox Company has received a perfect score on the nation's premier benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ workplace equality. The company, which has earned this recognition since 2006, is among more than 560 major U.S. businesses that earned top marks this year on the 2019 Corporate Equality Index, which is administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.

"We're proud to again earn a perfect score on the Corporate Equality Index because it shows that promoting a work environment that's inclusive is something we value year-in and year-out," said Kirsten Marriner, executive vice president and chief people officer at The Clorox Company. "Not only does this allow our employees to thrive, but it's also better for business because it helps us mirror the diverse consumers we serve."

The 2019 CEI evaluates LGBTQ-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBTQ community. In satisfying all CEI criteria, Clorox also earned the designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality.

"The top-scoring companies on this year's CEI are not only establishing policies that affirm and include employees here in the United States, they are applying these policies to their global operations and impacting millions of people beyond our shores," said HRC President Chad Griffin.
