CARMEL, Ind. (AP) _ CNO Financial Group Inc. (CNO) on Monday reported first-quarter net income of $51.8 million.
On a per-share basis, the Carmel, Indiana-based company said it had net income of 32 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 41 cents per share.
The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 47 cents per share.
The insurance holding company posted revenue of $1.02 billion in the period.
CNO shares have risen 15% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $17.06, a decline of 20% in the last 12 months.
