Coeur Mining: 4Q Earnings Snapshot

CHICAGO (AP) _ Coeur Mining Inc. (CDE) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $11.9 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

The Chicago-based company said it had profit of 5 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 8 cents per share.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 13 cents per share.

The silver mining company posted revenue of $228.3 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported net income of $25.6 million, or 11 cents per share, swinging to a profit in the period. Revenue was reported as $785.5 million.

Coeur Mining shares have decreased 14% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $8.94, a rise of 42% in the last 12 months.
