On a per-share basis, the Chicago-based company said it had profit of less than 1 cent. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 8 cents per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 12 cents per share.
The silver mining company posted revenue of $143.8 million in the period.
For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $48.4 million, or 26 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $625.9 million.
Coeur Mining shares have increased 24 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $5.55, a drop of 29 percent in the last 12 months.
