College football rankings: Alabama solidifies top spot, Georgia makes jump into top ten

Alabama continues to hold top spot, while Georgia makes largest jump after a convincing win over Mississippi State.

Alabama again holds the top spot in the AP Top 25 Poll and the Amway Coaches Poll this week.

Georgia made the biggest jump, moving up to No. 8 in the Coaches Poll with a blowout win over Mississippi State. West Virginia also made it into the top 25 while Florida State made the biggest drop, falling 14 spots after an 0-2 start.

In the AP Poll, TCU's win over No. 6 Oklahoma State was enough to move up seven spots. Oklahoma State dropped to No. 15. Notre Dame and West Virginia worked their way onto the list with convincing wins against Michigan State and Kansas, respectively.

The SEC has five schools in the top 25 of both polls. The Pac-12 has four teams in the rankings. Five ACC teams remain in the Coaches Poll rankings, while Florida State falls out of the AP Poll, followed by four Big Ten teams and three Big 12 teams.
