Columbia Sportswear: 3Q Earnings Snapshot

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) _ Columbia Sportswear Co. (COLM) on Thursday reported third-quarter net income of $62.8 million.

On a per-share basis, the Portland, Oregon-based company said it had profit of 94 cents.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.22 per share.

The maker of outdoor gear posted revenue of $701.1 million in the period, also falling short of Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $756.5 million.

For the current quarter ending in December, Columbia Sportswear said it expects revenue in the range of $850 million to $880 million.

Columbia Sportswear shares have dropped almost 4% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $96.27, a rise of 2% in the last 12 months.
