CONSUMER CONFIDENCE UNEXPECTEDLY FALLS IN JUNE

The preliminary results from the University of Michigan's June consumer confidence survey are out.

The headline index unexpectedly fell to 82.7 from May's 84.5 reading.

The economic conditions sub-index fell to 92.1 from 98.0.

the economic outlook sub-index, on the other hand, increased to 76.7 from 75.8.

Inflation expectations one year ahead ticked up to 3.2% from 3.1%, while inflation expectations five years ahead rose to 3.0% from 2.9%.
